About Kevin Guest House

Inspired by 13-year old Kevin Garvey who traveled to Buffalo to battle leukemia in 1972

As the first independent healthcare hospitality house in America, Kevin Guest House has served as the model for more than 600 houses across the country, including the very first Ronald McDonald House.

Since opening in July 1972 we have hosted patients and their families, primarily from Western New York, but also from 49 states, Canada, and eleven other countries.

Our mission is to provide a comfortable and supportive home away from home for patients and their families. As America’s first healthcare hospitality house, our vision is to set the standard for compassionate guest care.

Celebrate 50 Years with the KGH50 Campaign!

As Kevin Guest House celebrates 50 Years of providing a “Home-Away-from-Home” for patients and families traveling for critical medical care, we are committed to setting the standard for compassionate guest care with the highest standards of safety.

The”KGH50″ Campaign is a $1.5 Million multi-project initiative to bring our three original properties up to the same standard of hospitality achieved by opening our newest building at 766 Ellicott Street. Learn about the major goals of this campaign, and how you can support KGH50.

We’ve reached our Expansion Goal!

A critical step in serving our guests, and doubling our capacity.

The biggest accomplishment of 2020 was closing our first ever capital expansion at the Russell J. Salvatore Hospitality House. Thanks to the gifts from hundreds of donors – and our closing donor, the First Niagara Foundation – a project nearly 20 years in the making is complete, allowing us to now focus on improving our daily operations, making the rest of our campus more suitable for our guests, and strategically plan for our future sustainability.

Thank you so much for helping us raise $79,000 in 2022 to provide a comfortable and supportive home away from home for our guests.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the support from our community. Thank you to all those who attended the event and purchased take home meals. Special thanks to our committee and all of the volunteers who worked hard to make the event run smoothly. We greatly appreciate our sponsors and the in-kind donors who provided entertainment, memories and delicious tastings for the event.
